‘Un Mundo Sin Guerra’, the Spanish edition of Sundeep Waslekar’s book ‘A World Without War’ proposing a new alternative to global governance and a global social contract was launched in Madrid and Andorra in multiple events. The book was originally published in English by HarperCollins India in 2022 and in French as Entre Guerre et Paix by CNRS Editions in 2023. The Spanish edition is published by Nola Editores, Spain, in collaboration with Tec de Monterrey, Mexico.

On Wednesday September 10, IE Foundation hosted a book launch as the opening of the Hay Festival Segovia at IE University moderated by Borja Santos Porras. Students including Sam Elsey, Sam Ferdinand, Oleksandr Mysyk and others spoke eloquently about how the principles underlying the European Union can be extended to restructure global governance for a world without war. It was a special honour to meet Manuel Muniz who leads an outstanding vertical university with vast international student body.

On September 11, Club de Madrid , an organisation of 120 former Presidents and Prime Ministers, with Casa Asia hosted a public launch moderated by Ruben Campos. In India September 11 is commemorated as the day when Swami Vivekananda introduced the principle of unity of mankind in 1893. I am honoured that my book in Spanish was launched on this day in Madrid as it explains how to achieve such unity in an era of unending wars.

On September 12, Augusto Lopez-Claros, Chairman of Global Governance Forum, hosted and conducted another dialogue in the presence of Spain’s leading thinkers, writers and social leaders.

On September 15, the book was launched at Universitat d'Andorra by Juli Minoves-Triquell, Rector and former Foreign Minister. In addition to the public launch, he also hosted closed door discussions on the book with the Academic Council and prominent persons of Andorra.

Besides the formal book presentations, SFG had interactions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Office of President of the Government of Spain, Prof Manuel Muniz, Rector of IE University and former State Secretary, as well as cross-sections of society in Spain and Andorra.
