Janaina Tewaney Mencomo Lala
Janaina is a Research Analyst with Strategic Foresight Group. She works on water security issues in the Latin American region.
Before joining SFG, Janaina served as an academic research assistant on topics such as nuclear disarmament and international mediation for the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong. She also worked as a Free Trade Agreement Negotiator for the Republic of Panama and helped negotiate the Panama-USA and Panama-Canada Free Trade Agreements. She has also worked for the International Maritime Organisation in London.
Janaina holds a Masters in Public International Law from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and a LLM from the University of Hong Kong specialising in the Laws of Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.
Janaina has published articles in international newspapers and journals on topics related to nuclear policy and international mediation as a way to resolve conflicts. She has also been a guest lecturer at the Hong Kong University and The University of Panama.
