Rahman is a Research Assistant with the South Asia Security Unit. 

Previously, he worked on the Horizon Scanning Unit, as well as on a scenario planning project for the State of Maharashtra, for Strategic Foresight Group. 

Rahman has an M.A. in Urdu and English Literature from Mumbai University and an M.Ed from Marathwada University. He has had 8 years of teaching experience as a lecture at M. K. College of Education.
